So it's really important for students to take advantage of our resources, our tutoring, as well as our embedded study support services, because the trends and the data show that students who participate in these services do better. They have higher GPAs, higher graduation and retention rates, and so our goal is really aimed at helping students be successful in their courses, so that they can complete their degree and graduate on time. A key element to our support services is that it's all peer led. So you're going to be working with fellow Nevada State students who have taken the courses you're in and they understand how to navigate Nevada State College.
You'll find out, at speaking in your class, if you have an embedded peer tutor. We'll introduce ourselves and what our hours are. I believe, all of us, at all the peer support services are very friendly, and we really want students to succeed. So never be afraid to approach us because we love all of our students.
When you come into a space as warm and comfortable as our writing center, you can start to really focus on the process of writing, and we help students at every single level of writing, not just at the very end when they need editing, but at the very beginning when they're brainstorming and trying to pull their ideas together, and is a really nice place to be and grow.
